These are questions that are sometimes asked of us. We hope these answers are helpful. We've tried to anticipate all questions but alas, we're only human.
- How do I "Book" or "Lock-in" my date?
We send out a "Music Information Package" This includes information, provided by you, that covers everything from the first song played at your reception to the very last song played and everything in between. It also includes two (2) contracts. Sign one (keep one for your records) and return it with a fifty dollar ($50.00) deposit. That will LOCK your date.
- Do you charge for set up / tear down?
Heavens no! We usually set-up 2 to 3 hours before the event and as soon as the first guests arrive we begin playing at no charge to you. We know how important this event is to you so we want to be at our best!
(Although any burly/roadie types you have hanging around at the end of your event will be put to work...I've had many a mother in law loading speakers. HAHAHAHAHA.)
- Why do I need/want a "Lightshow"?
First, the "lightshow" is programmed to work with the music to help set the mood. Fast moving lights for fast dances. Slow moving light for slow dances. Our lightshow is one of the best in the tri-state area.
Second, it's included in our price! No extra charge. That includes the special effects as well.
- Why don't you have a list of all of your music?
If I did, it would be about as thick as a phonebook...and growing. I have music dating from 1923 to todays top hits in every genre...and we are constantly adding. Referring to the "Info" packs we send out, if we don't have the music you list on your info sheets...we will do our best to get it. Most of the time we are able to get it.
- Do you play "R" rated music?
Yes and No. All of our songs are "edited". These are the radio friendly you hear on the radio. There are a few un-edited songs we keep for "adult" events but for the most part the songs are the same ones you hear on the radio. Again, it's your event. If you request a song...it will be played. You're the boss!
- Why a "DJ" over a live band?
A live band can be awesome! But their library can be limited...as well as their diversity. They tend to need more frequent breaks. I have played for Todd Street, who fronts a band bearing his name for his reception and halfway through the reception the band took the stage. We used my lightshow and they Rocked! We all had a GREAT Time!
- Do you have a travel fee?
Regretfully, due to the price of gasoline, we charge a small fee for any event over 25 miles from our home base in Massillon, Ohio. That's 50 miles round trip for us. (This fee can be seen on our "Price's Page) This keeps us from raising our base price across the board.
- Why do you take so many photos at the event?
Two reasons. First, we post some of the photos here on the website so that your friends and family can view them at any time. Second, we create a video/audio slideshow of the event and send it to you free of charge as our gift to you.
